Business

You see the car before it sails. Exactly as it is.

MK1 runs a documented six-step export process — history, inspection, shipping — so the car that arrives is the car you saw.

Real information, real process — in a market full of noise

The used car export market is crowded with listings that hide more than they show. MK1 works the other way: we operate as one team — MK1 handling sourcing, buyers, and marketing; our partner workshop P-ark Motor Company handling the physical side on their yard, garage, and studio.

Two names, one operation, nothing off the record.

The process

From first message to your port — six steps, all visible

  1. Step 1

    Sourcing & inquiry

Tell us what you need — model, budget, spec. We source Kia-focused inventory with real price competitiveness.

Worry: "Will they even find what I asked for?"

Answer: You approve the exact car before anything moves.

  2. Step 2

    History disclosure

VIN, verified mileage, and service records — shared before you commit to anything.

Worry: "The history never shows up."

Answer: With us, the history shows up first.

    Here's what that looks like

  3. Step 3

    Physical inspection

The car is inspected and shot on real infrastructure: 7,600 m² yard, service garage, professional photo studio. Photos and video of every car, inside and out.

Worry: "Photos hide the rust underneath."

Answer: Ask, and we'll put it on the lift and shoot the underside for you.

    Here's what that looks like

  4. Step 4

    Contract & payment

Clear terms in writing, agreed before shipping. You know what you pay for and when.

Worry: "What if I pay and they disappear?"

Answer: A registered Korean company, one accountable name, everything in writing.

  5. Step 5

    Shipping & transport

We handle export documentation and shipping, and keep you posted at every stage.

Worry: "Once it ships, I'm in the dark."

Answer: You get updates until it lands.

  6. Step 6

    Delivery & after-contact

The car arrives at your port — and the conversation doesn't end there. Questions after delivery get answered by the same person who sold you the car.

Worry: "After the sale, nobody replies."

Answer: Same person, same chat, still replying.

A different track
Auction proxy

A different way in: bid on your behalf

Already know the exact car you want? Skip sourcing — tell us the model, spec, and budget, and MK1 bids for you on Korea's auction platforms.

  1. Proxy · Step 1

    Your request

Tell us the model, spec, and budget you're bidding for.

Worry: "How do they even find my exact car?"

Answer: You name it, we go find it where it's listed.

  2. Proxy · Step 2

    We search the platforms

MK1 searches matching listings across Korea's sourcing platforms — Encar, Hyundai Glovis, Mango Car, Bakcha Company, Autohub Sellcar, and others.

Worry: "Is this even a real listing?"

Answer: Same platforms every serious buyer in Korea uses.

  3. Proxy · Step 3

    Full disclosure before you bid

Before any bid is placed, you see the same thing our own buyers see: condition report, verified mileage, and photos of the actual car.

Worry: "What if the listing photos are hiding something?"

Answer: Same transparency standard as our direct export process.

  4. Proxy · Step 4

    You set the ceiling

You approve a maximum bid. MK1 never bids past it.

Worry: "Will they bid more than I agreed to?"

Answer: Your ceiling, in writing, before we lift a paddle.

  5. Proxy · Step 5

    MK1 bids on your behalf

We place the bid at the platform's auction, representing you.

Worry: "Who's actually bidding — me or a stranger?"

Answer: One accountable company, bidding under your instructions.

  6. Proxy · Step 6

Win, then it joins the export process

If the bid succeeds, the car moves into MK1's standard six-step export process — inspection confirmed, contract, shipping, delivery.

Worry: "What happens after I win?"

Answer: From here, it's the same process as every MK1 car.

Fees, deposit, and no-win terms — ask, and we'll walk you through them.

Where we ship, what we ship

MK1 focuses on three markets we actually know: Albania, Russia, and the Middle East. Our core inventory is Kia — strong sourcing volume in Korea means competitive pricing on the models these markets ask for most.

Need something outside the focus? Ask — sourcing is what we do all day.

This is not a website with cars. It's a yard with a website.

Every MK1 car passes through real facilities, operated as one team with our partner workshop:

MK1 vehicle yard in Yeoncheon-gun — export-ready cars parked in rows

7,600 m² (2,300-pyeong) yard

Inventory you could walk through, not a photoshopped list.

Service garage with two-post lifts, where cars are inspected and shot from underneath

Service garage

Mechanical checks by the people who repair cars for a living.

The Encar photo studio where every car is photographed against the same backdrop

Professional photo studio

An Encar photo studio — every car is shot to the standard Korea's own market uses. Consistent, honest photography, inside and out.

If you're ever in Korea, come see it. If you can't, that's exactly why we document everything.

All three are on one site in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do — see the address and map.

Services

The content engine we built for our own cars — available for yours

To sell our own cars, we built a publishing engine: a book, daily Instagram cards, and a Facebook channel written in Albanian for buyers in Albania and Kosovo. Now we offer that same engine to other used car exporters and dealers — content built by people who actually know this trade, not a generic agency guessing at it.

And we don't publish in one language and hope it travels. We publish in the market's own language, because that's how we sell our own cars.

Our portfolio isn't a pitch deck. It's live, and you can check today's post: see the channels

FAQ

Questions buyers ask before they send money overseas

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask — the person who answers is the person who ships your car.

Is MK1 a registered company?

Yes. MK1 (마크원) is a company registered in South Korea, business registration number 111-25-95950, e-commerce report number 2020-Byeollae-0122, in business since September 2019. It is a one-person company run by Ye Sang Hoon, who handles every deal directly.

Which countries does MK1 export Korean used cars to?

MK1 exports used cars from South Korea, with Albania, Russia and the Middle East as its focus markets. Kia is the focus brand, because MK1 sources Kia volume at competitive prices.

How do I know the mileage and history on a listing are real?

Every MK1 listing publishes the full VIN, the verified mileage together with the source it was verified against, and the car's service records. If a car's history does not check out, MK1 does not list it.

Will MK1 tell me what is wrong with a car?

Yes. Every MK1 listing carries a condition report that states the defects, not just the good points. Mechanical findings and body repair history are listed separately, so a repaired panel is never presented as a mechanical fault or the other way round.

Where are the cars inspected and photographed?

On real infrastructure in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea: a 7,600 m² (2,300-pyeong) vehicle yard, a service garage, and a photo studio, run as a one-team operation with partner workshop P-ark Motor Company. Cars are inspected and shot there before they ship.

Where does MK1 source its cars from?

MK1 does not run its own auction house. It buys through Korea's established vehicle marketplaces and auction platforms — Encar, Hyundai Glovis, Mango Car, Bakcha Company and Autohub Sellcar — the same platforms Korean dealers and exporters use.

Can MK1 buy a specific car for me at a Korean auction?

Yes. MK1 offers an auction proxy service: you name the car you want, MK1 finds it on the Korean platforms where it is listed, and bids on your instructions. Your price ceiling is agreed in writing before any bid is placed, and MK1 bids as one accountable company rather than through an anonymous intermediary.

Why are there no prices on the listings?

MK1 quotes per car rather than publishing a fixed price, because the final figure depends on the car and the destination. Every listing carries an "Ask for price" link that goes straight to Ye Sang Hoon.

Who will I actually be dealing with?

Ye Sang Hoon — Kevin to his buyers — the founder of MK1 and the author of Dynamic K-Used Cars (『역동하는 K-중고차』), a book on Korea's used car export trade. There is no sales team in between: the same person sources the car, checks it, answers your messages and stays reachable after the sale.

Shipping terms and any warranty are agreed per deal, in writing, before payment. Ask and you'll get the specifics for your car and your port.
